"Could this be the beginning of a new chapter in this division when we finally have one el supremo club owned by one el supremo lady who is also the el supremo boss of the division, with one el supremo coach who is finally going to teach us how to fence saber, epee and foil? I hear rumors that team Hurley feels the need for a professional coach and facility and are booking U-haul for the move to Houston as soon as they get back from Korea... and the French sisters cannot be far behind.
Ah, the beauty of free market in action! Think of it, with this economy of scale and everybody just in one swell club, the monthly fees will go down faster than the price of flat screen TV! And no more fights about USFA sanctioned tournaments and all the rest. Everyone will be an A in no time!"
ROFLMAO!!!! Oops, assless donkey-not a pretty sight. Brilliant post....glad to see satire is not dead....yet.

Too bad he's leaving. A VERY nice man. He turned out a very competent collection of sabre fencers.
I wonder how much the NJ club offered him.

I am sad that he is gone but I an happy that he is in a place where he will be treated with respect and dignity from the owner of club.

Oleksii is a wonderful coach and a great asset to fencing in the Houston area that will be sorely missed. He was also an excellent director that helped raise directing in the area exponentially. Before he came, many of the entrenched refs would be inconsistent in calls which is a terrible thing for a saber fencer. He was able to change the ones that wanted to be better, and now we all know who the ones are that aren't. He even made me see actions I had never seen, although I do not claim to be a director in saber.
He also loved fencing, and introducing people to the opportunities he received in fencing. I wish him the best. I allowed him to give lessons at my club early on with Louise, but that was limited very quickly because of scheduling conflicts. We had a local radio personality that drove him back and forth when he did not have a car.
I wish his life is Blessed and he and his wife continue to do what he loves.
