I talked to Dead briefly today, UH is aiming to have the campus up and running by Tuesday. There isn't much property damage in Houston. Nothing that would warrent people having to book all the hotels. If we can't host SWIFA due to some unforseen circumstance, I will know by Friday. Also, Kyle, can you send out an e-mail to the SWIFA clubs and ask them to register their teams on Fred so we have a rough guess of who is going to be showing up? I'm not DEAD Davis... I'm Dean Jokes aside, I went ahead and reserved the gyms up here Davis. If you could do me a huge favor and call me as soon as you find out one way or another we would appreciate it. I just got off the phone with America's Inn (where I booked rooms for my team), and they said our reservations are still good, I hope it's the same for all the other schools... That may be something worth looking into.

Just got off the phone with Davis. He says they have refed up. The South Texas Division is bringing down a truck-load of equipment in addition to what they have or is already committed, so they should have 11 full strips. Looks like SWIFA #1's a "Go".
I am calling a meeting of the member teams immediately following the close of registration to vote on admitting Sam Houston State University and Trinity University into SWIFA. I don't anticipate that this will take more than 10 minutes like the last time we did this.

Sam Houston State University and Trinity University both joined SWIFA on a unanimous vote of the existing members at the SWIFA #1 at U of H this weekend. ;D

SWIFA #1 went very well! Despite damage from Hurricane Ike (downed trees, missing signs, and lots of piled up roofing shingles everywhere you looked), Jett and the rest of the U of H crew did a great job and pulled it off! Everything ran very well and (despite the usual -always present anywhere- minor glitches) there were no major problems. Mucho Cudos to them for that!
Houston took some pretty good damage (Nothing like Galveston did) from Ike, but they are back and up and running pretty well. And I got to see some of it, getting lost 3 times as I did (Never, EVER trust a Google Map)!
Matt D ran the computer for us. We got to use a make-shift program (Beta test) he's developing for us, which worked like a charm. We'll have our own software pretty soon. Thank you, Matt!
The results went like this:
Mx. Epee: 1. Tx St - A (3 points) 2. UTSA - A (2 points) 3. TAMU - SHS (1 point) 4. U of H 5. TAMU - GE 6. SHSU 7. UTFC 8. Baylor 9. UTSA - B 10. Tx St - B 11. Rice 13. Tx St - C
Mx. Foil: 1. UNT - A (3 points) 2. UTFC (2 points) 3. Tx St (1 point) 4. Baylor - A 5. UTSA - A 6. U of H 7. Rice 8. TAMU - A 9. TAMU - B 10. UNT - C 11. Baylor - C 12. UTSA - B 13. Baylor- B 14. UTSA - D 15. UTSA - C 16. UNT - B
Mx. Sabre: 1. U of H -B (3 points) 2. UTFC - A (2 points) 3. UTSA (1 point) UTFC - B 5. Rice 6. Tx St 7. U of H - A
Cummulative Scores for 2008-2009 Season: Tx St = 4 UT = 4 U of H = 3 UNT = 3 UTSA = 3 TAMU = 1
