13 March 1914. French. Silent. Jean Richepin meets Pierre Frondaie in a duel at Neuilly. Both were poets, playwrights and novelists. The duel came about over a dispute that arose between their wives. The duel ended after Frondaie was wounded. Over 100 celebrities and press witnessed the duel, including Richepin's father.
Frondaie was born René Pierre Fraudet. He was mostly known as a writer of romantic novels.
Richepin is mostly remembered for his plays. His 1913 play "Le Minaret" was directed by his wife and starred Mata Hari.
