Gekiken is Japanese historical fencing, promoting and preserving true martial techniques and Kenjutsu lineages, and to foster character development through experiential learning. The two in video do not use shinai or bokken but steel swords that have been blunted. Our goal is to develop the character of the people for the better, and also create a realistic sword fencing environment for all styles to freely express themselves and utilize their style’s unique techniques. This is only the Gekiken tournament segment. It seemed the most appropriate segment for this board. Full video, including Tameshigiri, is at: Website: www.gekiken.org/

So, they're hitting each other with actual swords? That's nuts. I don't care if they have been dulled, that's gotta hurt... ALOT.
