from Sit and Fight the newsletter of US Wheelchair Fencing...It will be required that chairs meet basic qualification standards including: - A side must be secured on the non-weapon arm side. NO arm rest is allowed on the weapon side of the chair.
- A cushion may be used but not exceed 10 cm (3.94 in) in height and be bendable from corner to corner.
- The back must be a minimum of 15 cm higher than the seat/cushion.
- The highest point of the chair seat frame must not be higher than 53cm (20.86 in) from the floor
- The chair must be constructed in a way that the feet can not make contact with the floor.
Personal equipment rules must be followed including the domestic requirements of the fencer’s name printed in blue on the back of the jacket, or the rear leg. The pod (competition area) at our National Events must be kept clear of those not actively running the competition (referees, fencers and pit-crew). Coaches may only enter the pod during appropriate coaching breaks. Spectators must remain outside of the pod as must fencing bags.
