Sad, but not unexpected.

I am one of Emilio Ybarra's longtime black belts and fencing students. I wanted to make you aware that I have created a facebook page and group for Master/Coach Emilio; you can find it by searching 'Master Emilio S. Ybarra'. It is a great way to see/share pictures, memories, and connect with others...[www.facebook.com/masteremilioybarra]
I encourage those interested to visit and join this group...please share your memories, pictures or favorite philosophies/saying of Master Emilio.
It has been great to read all great things said on this forum~
These were dedicated to Master Emilio S. Ybarra, a dynamic and charismatic man who greatly influenced the lives of countless people. A martial arts master, fencing coach and competitor of the highest quality...for those not aware, Master Emilio passed away June 12, 2011; unexpectedly, sadly, and far too early...
Master Emilio was that rare man who created an instant, powerful & positive first impression which never faded: Respected, sincere, genuinely dedicated to his students, a master of motivation, dignified, philosophical, hard-core, understanding, and total fun on the fencing strip!

We have lost a brother in arms.
I knew Emilio and his wife, great people, when we fenced it was always a momentous challenge and a great fight. I will miss his spirit. We do not really know all there is to know but they were both honorable and both should be remembered well. Godspeed to them both.

Master Emilio will always be positive fixture in my memories.
I feel absolutely ill, when I think of him not being with us anymore.
He embodied "Always be nice.", before Patrick Swazey made it popular.
He is the king of cool in my book.
I am a better person for having known him.
