The SWIFA #4 is scheduled for April 22, 23 at UTSA.The next and last tournament of the year, SWIFA 4, will be hosted by the UTSA team on April 22 and 23. SWIFA 4, unlike the other SWIFA tournaments, has traditionally been a two-day tournament, with the usual team competition on Saturday and an individual competition on Sunday. If you would like to come to the tournament and cheer on the UTSA fencers, check this Web site for updates on the locations and times of events. communication.utsa.edu/mbatch/3413/site1/kmoore/news.html

Or to cheer on any of the other fencers, I presume.

UH will be there. We should have a saber squad this time. I'll be on it, probably.

So it's come and gone. Dunno the results. UH epee got first and saber got fourth (out of four >.<).
Didn't see TAMU there.

No TAMU? That's quite surprising. I know UT must have gone, as only one UT fencer showed up at the Yorick, and usually some of them come to every tournament they can.

Yah, UT was there. I assume they took first in saber, but I can't remember. UH defeated UT in the epee finals to take first.
I have no idea what happened to foil. UH didn't even make it out of pools so I stopped paying attention. I assume it came down to UT, UTSA, and Baylor (surprise there kinda).

I think the TAMU folks were still pretty burned out from USACFC. Driving out there, fencing as well as they did, and driving back took a bit of time and energy. Still, I would have liked to see them at SWIFA Champs.

So, anyone have any info on what happened at the meeting?

If TAMU didn't attend, I wonder if there was a meeting: I'd imagine if something important was happening they'd be there.

A&M didn't attend the championships. I have no idea about the status of a meeting.

A couple of my fellow club members at TAMU asked me if I wanted to fence foil with them at SWIFA. I said no though because I haven't done competative foil in a while, and I didn't have the extra money for gas anyway. I kinda wish I hadn't refused now though. Oh and congrats to UofH & t.u.

So, I'm assuming there was no meeting? I guess we're back to square one.
