The extras are on reserve and since there are only like 75 people total in the event, its smaller than a regular tournement. Well, some regular tournements.

David, We're using the old style team format. During the pools, all nine will be fenced to get an indicator (as Damaris said.) During the DE, it's a race to 5 bouts. No sense in fencing more bouts if the encounter has already been lost. No repechage. Third will be fenced off. The problem I see with going to 9 in the pools is that it just takes so long. The pools could be fenced to 5 as well and just go with those indicators.

True. Well, I won't be there, so go with what y'all think will be most accurate and most time efficient. Keep us posted here!

Well, I think I refereed a personal best number of bouts for a single day - and that includes any of the "really tough days" I've had at NACs. Somewhere on the order of 150 sabre bouts, continuously, one right after another. Whew, I'm still trying to clear the cobwebs out of my head! But it was an interesting experience, and I'd help out again, if I'm available.

My brain hurt, my eyes burned, and I was walking like my father all day Sunday.
