Just FYI, an interesting thread has begun on Fencing Net here. The original poster has created two maps. The first shows 2006 USACFC teams with white markers, potential teams with blue markers and teams from 2004 with red ones. The second shows teams by conference (including SWIFA).

I would hate to see them try to raid SWIFA. But I haven't heard anything about USACFC having made any offers. UT and A&M both participated at the SWIFA #1 here at Texas State on Saturday. And I wonder if they would even want to break away from the SWIFA conference. It's a long way to travel that far out of state if for no other reasons.

I think its less of raiding SWIFA, and more of long-term potentialities for when USACFC grows to the point of needing regional "conferences" for qualification to the national championships, and the role that SWIFA and other existing circuits could potentially play.

Think of the USACFC as the NCAA and SWIFA as the Big 12. It isn't a poaching or competition situation. The USACFC exists solely to offer a national championship to the collegiate clubs.
