I don't think that this will be enforced, but I was just wondering if anyone happened to read the clothing description of the 2005 revision. It says that all clothing must be 800N including plastron. And that the mask should have a bib that can resist up to 1600N. Did the USFA adopt the FIE rules or did the USFA just get lazy and copy it from the FIE rules?
Cheers

The USFA has an addendum that states that the FIE clothing standards are not applied. However, there is a requirement that masks have a bib with a strength of 700N. That has not been enforced anywhere that I know of and probably never will be.

I agree with you about the no fie rule, however there are several chinese/phillipino manufacturers that make non fie 800n kits. I would think there there is nothing from stopping the fencers from getting one of these instead of a bg jacket.

There isn't, but likewise there's nothing requiring them to either.
