The following message was relayed to me and I thought I would pass it along here. Sounds like an opportunity for someone down in ya'll's neck of the woods! ---- Last Spring I e-mailed an inquiry concerning the fact that I would like to find a fencing instructor who could come to my dance school (summer day camp in the summers) in Kirbyville, Tx. to not only further my fencing skills but to introduce it to the children in the all the area. (There is an extremely high incidence of teenage pregnancy....as well as drugs flowing in the streets). I have nearly 4,000 sq. feet of space.....and professional marlie flooring. I would let the instructor keep all tuition collected in exchange for some further instruction for myself. If you could relay this to anyone you think could help me locate a fencer, it would be apprecizszted. Kirbyville is 20 minutes south of Jasper.....45 minutes from Beaumont and 2 and a half hours from Houston. Thanks for your time. (I am originally from Fort Worth and fenced at Texas Woman's University). Elizabeth Ashford elizabeth.ashford@newtonisd.net---

Sounds like they may be closest to the Spindletop Cavaliers. Any of them here?

I've sent an email to some of the folks in the Spindletop Cavaliers in the Golden Triangle area.

I really cannot speak for Fr. Sinclair, but I doubt he could add this to his schedule. Kirbyville is roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes away from where he lives and he is too busy as it is. As for me, I have no experience as a coach and I am having a hard enough time fencing myself. I have made it out to the club 5 times since Emma has been borne and she's nearly 5 months old.... I am loosing the knots around my knees!
Such a shame!

Ivanhoe, it may come to nothing, but perhaps you could ask the folks at your club.
Far as they are, you are still closer. Perhaps, if none of us can go there on a regular basis we could send some odds and ends of gear. If she has had some training, she should surely be able to get a beginners' class going.
I, too, wonder if Grace has any words of wisdom and experience (the last being the harshest but surest of teachers).

Schlager7 passed the info to all the core members. They will no doubt talk amongst themselves if they are interested.
