Okay, guys, nothing serious, just an approval poll. WHo do you think is the best foil coach currently teaching in the Gulf Coast Division?
Who do you like and why?

Boy, Schlager, there's great potential for a major poop slide here!
"Naa, naa, my coach is BETTER than your coach!!!!" (Which I think is obvious.)

Want to vote Janet Reno? Just register its quick easy and free. Then You will get the option to vote. ITs what I had to do. I voted though who I voted for I will keep to myself. Hey why not start some other polls this is kinda fun. Maybe worst coach, best fencer, loudest fencer (you know the annoying screaming we hear after a touch), Fencer whos been most carded. I dont know just some suggestions. *snicker* Geezer said poop.

All well and good, Janet, but it won't show until you register (to of this page) and then log in with your username and password. Then you can vote and also post things on our calendar.
Welcome aboard... and in the meantime, it looks like someone gave Paul their vote.
(Note for those who have asked, I can see the usernames of those who have voted but I can't see who they voted for. All I see is a list of names.)
Looks like we have some new members now, as well.

[glow=red,2,300]Well I can't pick just one.. I've taken foil lessons from Delfina (who was my first coach), Kamilla, and Augie. I like all three of them and will not choose favorites, sorry. [/glow]

Glad you got it. Here, have one exalt out of petty cash... ;D I also had no idea that Paul had such a cadre of fans down on the island! I can't wait to see how this plays out. I guess next week I'll have to start an epee poll.

I am now willing to concede that Paul Koo certainly has the most avid fans among our coaches...

Mark never did post a vote for Damien, but I see Mauro and Sabina each got an extra vote, but Galveston's Paul Koo remains the main vote-getter.
Just FYI: I'll probably start an epee coach poll on Saturday.
I am trying to remember everyone who teaches epee in this division. I am willing to take help/suggestions so I don't forget anyone (Alexei Sintchinov, Kevin O'Neill, Andrey Geva and Suzanne Simpson are obvious so far.)

August Skopik, Steve Moss, Joe Reeves (maybe, dunno), Erika (erica?) Wilder (she taught the epeeists lots of groovy stuff at UH), Sinclair Priestdude, Dan Gorman (or his wife, for the A&M kids; should have been in the foil coach thing too). Maybe I went overboard. Just how many of us are teaching each other?

Probably a lot, but I can put LOTS of names in a poll, so there no ceiling on how many we can list.

I am trying to remember everyone who teaches epee in this division. I am willing to take help/suggestions so I don't forget anyone Robert Reed gives a short informal lesson to everyone in his pool every time he comes down here. You get a longer one if you have to fence him in a DE. For most of us, the lesson is the same: move faster!!

BTW: I will be starting the sabre coach poll this weekend. I am trying to think of everyone who coaches sabre in this division. So far I have:
Akhi Spencer-El Dan Gorman Oliver Diaz
I thought I'd heard, but don't really know if Erica Wilder and August Skopik also taught some sabre. I think Damian Berntsen does and, on occasion, Jerry Dunaway. I'll probably add them, unless someone can tell me I'm wrong. Anyone else?

What about Oleksiy Ivanov, the new saber coach at Alliance Fencing Academy? And Andrey Geva who last year coached Joe Wisocky to earn his "A" and Tim Guerinot his "B" at Summer Nationals 2004?

Thanks. I didn't know if Andrey was coaching sabre or had someone else doing that currently. I take it from your post Oleksiy is staying?
