This is the same idea as the foil coach poll (which has NOT been locked, just in case you haven't voted in that one, yet).
Some are foil coaches who do double-duty. Yes, I know Alexei is moving, but he's still pretty current.
Pick your favorite coach and vote for them. Sorry, only registered members of this forum may vote.

Erika gets props for helping us UH fencers out. I have never seen Sabina give an epee lesson. Edit: I once recieved a 5 minute epee lesson from John Monahan when he discovered I was going to be fencing epee the coming weekend at SWIFA. It basically went: "What, he's fencing epee? Arrrgh OK, I'm going to attack. No! Why are you parrying? Counter attack. Hit my arm. OK good. Now flesche. Good, but aim for the head." My first and only epee lesson.

I have really enjoyed my lessons from Andre. He has that old-world demand for correct form, but unlike Witold, teaches the mental game for each maneuver at the same time he shows you the propper physical moves. As some of you may know, the mental thing is a struggle for me. I rant and scream and hop about mostly to keep my brain working.

Not saying I'd be in the running on the other 2 (or even the third), but any chance I'll at least make the list for saber coaches?

For a fact you go on the sabre list, I just did not know who was coaching what among the A&M crowd. In truth, the poll was created at the end of a very long week that included a funeral. I really WOULD feel bad about leaving you out of sabre. As it is I forgot, and very humbly beg forgiveness from, Bill Trapani for failing to list him in epee! I really need to get some sleep.

Perhaps he gets voted for in the "Someone I Forgot to Put on this List" space?

Andrey Geva is my coach, but so is Sabina Bazarbayeva, and William Trapani. Why isn't Trapani on the list?

Why am I on the list? I just stand around with an epee and watch my opponent's light go on!

In all honesty, all the coaching I do is pass on what Augie teaches to me....give my three votes to him please. ;D

Sorry, Steve. I can't re-assign the votes people make. It wouldn't be honest! I leave cute tricks like that to the folks in Washington... I guess you'll just have to live with the fact that you have one of the best fan bases in this forum. Actually, that was one of my problems. When I realized I'd left Bill off I found I can't edit a poll, only delete it entirely and start over. By that time I realized my faux pas the votes were coming in. I preferred to publicly apologize to Bill, here, than delete a vote cast by anyone. Which, I guess, is silly, since none of this is binding or really effects anything. BTW: I will be starting the sabre coach poll this weekend. I am trying to think of everyone who coaches sabre in this division. So far I have: Akhi Spencer-El Dan Gorman Oliver Diaz I thought I'd heard, but don't really know if Erica Wilder and August Skopik also taught some sabre. I think Damian Berntsen does and, on occasion, Jerry Dunaway. I'll probably add them, unless someone can tell me I'm wrong. Anyone else?

Hi John,
Well, I have seen Augie teach saber at his club. I've even taken a Saber lesson....once! That whole "Cutting" idea seems a little out of place for my "epee brian" however.

[glow=red,2,300] Well Stephen it's difficult to choose when you only get to vote once (Maybe we should have had you guys campaign against each other first lol), but in all honesty who was it that took me to the JO's and even went the extra mile and drove me to and from Sache,Tx? Who gave me his favorite FIE mask just in case my old one didn't pass inspection during summer nationals this year? Yes, I know you weren't able to actually be there, but we were on the phone so much you can say you were. Now as far as skill goes, of course ALL of us take lessons from Augie!! However, I only get one vote and you've been my coach for 4 years. On top of it you've gone through a lot with the school and don't even make a profit off of this - you win hands down! PS: I've returned your mask, (collateral) now I would like my WFC shirt back lol. ;D[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300] Okay I'd probably vote for Augie for Sabre... but then again Dan's going to be my new coach this year at A&M so I wouldn't want to tick him off by not voting for him. j/k. Make the poll John and I'll vote. ::cough:: Vote for Augie ::cough:: [/glow]

So, is there an end date to this poll? I see that the best epee coach (Suzanne) is in the lead as of now!

Yes. Since I allowed several folks might be away due to summer vacations and post-Nationals downtime, I've set the lockdown date for August 21.
