Okay, so illegal for tournaments, okay for clubs. This I get. Anyone have any feedback or thoughts (informed or otherwise)? Hitmate

Not familiar with it at all. I found a recent thread on FNet, as I suspect you did. There was very little feedback, there, either. Doesn't seem many have first hand experience with it, yet.
The epee-only aspect may limit its appeal.
OTOH, at price tag of $300, for club fencing, it's way cheaper than buying another scorebox/reels/floorcords set.

You can get close to the same effect using the Favero FTT-1 which is a practice box worn by each fencer that works for epee, and foil (current timing for point dwell) Plus it has the tester box circuitry in it as well. Of course you won't have the guard hits block nor will it tell you if you touched off target in foil, but for less than $120 for two units it beats the Hitmate on price.

Nice, Swordmaster. At that price it is definitely a do-able alternative for a couple of guys to use in work on their bladework away from the club, as well.

Note that using the Faveros still doesn't help significantly with two touches made near the 1/25 second threshold -- maybe a double, maybe slightly timed out. Using the Hitmate (or traditional machines) resolves those and adds value. -B
