I am pleased to announce the opening of a new epee club in the Woodlands--the Woodlands Fencing Foundation. We are meeting at 5125 Shadowbend Place, Woodlands 77381. We are open for business Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. The head coach is Khariton Zazhitskiy and we are pleased to have him with us. Please stop by to see us.
In the very near future, WFF plans to host (together with Katy Blades and Salle Mauro) "traveling" open fencing sessions. The goal of these sessions is to provide members the opportunity to have a more diverse pool of persons to fence and also to promote more unity for the Houston fencing community and the Division. Once the schedule is settled we will roll it out to you all.
WFF's current schedule is as follows:
Monday:
4:00-5:30pm Private Lessons
5:30-6:00pm Warm-up Exercise
6:00-7:00pm Junior/Adult Class
7:00-9:00pm Open Fencing
Tuesday:
4:00-4:30pm Private Lessons
4:30-6:00pm Youth & Intermediate Class
6:00-9:00pm Junior/Adult Open Fencing
Wednesday:
7:30-9:00pm Private Lessons
Thursday:
4:00-4:30pm Private Lessons
4:30-6:00pm Youth & Intermediate Class
6:00-7:00pm Junior/Adult Class
7:00-9:00pm Open Fencing
Sunday:
4:00-6:00pm Open Fencing
6:00-9:00pm Physical Endurance/Conditioning Competition Class
We are already having to expand our hours and we will be adding a Friday fencing session within the next few weeks. I will let you all know when that is available. Our new website (woodlandsfencingfoundation.com) should be up and running in the next week or so. Please be sure to check there for further information. For questions regarding the club, you can reach me at lfreiman@aol.com. We look forward to working with you to foster high quality fencing in the Houston metro area.
