Hello everyone. This is Peter Deleeuw, the President of Texas A&M Fencing Club. We are very lucky to have a lot of new talented fencers in the club, but we don't have an instructor to correct their mistakes. A couple of experienced fencers have taken up the responsibility to teach these new students, but I feel that a more experienced teacher might be necessary. I just wanted to let fencers in the Gulf Coast know that we are looking for a coach. At this time, we can't pay for a full time coach, but I think we could be at that level in a couple years. We are able to pay for someone to come to A&M once or twice a week, or maybe once a month. We'll pay for you to come out, and I'm positive that most students will take lessons. Contact me on this page or at deleeuw@tamu.edu if you know someone that might be interested.

Nope, the 200 mile round trip finally did me in a year and a half ago. We still welcome the Ags at Salle Mauro though -- I remember making that drive many times with Oliver back in the day.

Maybe A&M could approach someone from Katy Blades. They would be closer than most other clubs.

Its a old tradition in Texas for up-and-coming coaches to drive to TAMU once or twice a month to give lessons. Helps the students there, and helps the coaches perfect their technique.

Its a good opportunity for someone new to take over! I'd throw my ring in the hat (old Ag and all), but Dallas is a bit far away, and my own club is taking off like gang-busters these days.
