We got a package from Colorado today addressed to the Clear Lake Fencing Club. It contained a banner depicting the new(est) incarnation of the USFA logo, lots of red and white stripes and our club name stating we are a 2010-2011 member club.
I don't recall CLFC ordering such a thing. Anyone else know anything about this? Anyone else get one?

Could this banner be a replacement (from the USFA) for the usual "certificate" each club gets when it joins for the year?
A little pricey, I would think, but much more useful in advertising.

Given the number of USFA member-clubs, I would think it would be more than pricey unless they got a very good deal.

It's quite a puzzle. The packing slip states it came from:
Fulfillment Center 9911 E. 47th Avenue Denver, CO, 80238-0000
It was obviously sent to our house simply because our home address is the one designated for CLFC. Our club may be peripatetic, but Nicole and I are pretty set.
It's not straight from the USFA.
Along the bottom white stripe it reads:
Premier Member Club 2010-2011 Clear Lake Fencing Club
What constitutes "premier" in this sense? We are a pretty small group.

I figured out the explanation. "Premier" club membership (as contrasted with "Standard" or "Basic") means that the club opted for the $2 million insurance policy (as contrasted with $1 million or $0).
It should be noted that the actual price differences between Basic and Standard and between Standard and Premier are somewhat greater than the actual cost to the USFA to provide the additional insurance. The real truth is that it also serves as a fund-raising mechanism for the USFA.
And, as one of the listed premiums for donating, I mean joining, at the $2 million insurance level, is "Exclusive Member Club Banner".
