I only just found this list. Any chance UH or Rice would be participating this year?

UH? Ha ha, no. We can barely get enough people to go to SWIFA.

There's discussion of vendors attending. Are people interested in that, and should UT make special effort to bring in vendors next year, when they host?

I'd say yes to both.

Hm. Perhaps a better way of asking it: Do you think you'd buy gear from a vendor present, or are people mostly liking the idea because you never know when you need emergency tip screws or something. Vendors are people too (and exceedingly nice ones, from all that I've talked to) and it really does have to be worth their while to come out.

The USCFC championships at Clemson are, I believe, this weekend. I just wanted to wish all of those going good luck!

Just a closing reminder to all that the 2007 USACFC Championships will be held here in Texas, specifically at UT in Austin. If any of us find we are not tied up with divisionals and the like at that time, a visit to cheer on the the various Texas fencers might be fun.

We might also even consider reworking when we host Divisional tournaments to free up the referees and equipment that they'll need.

Darned good though, David. Of course, it gets easier the sooner we know the actual dates.
Nothing like an all-state effort to make the home crowd shine!

I believe its scheduled for the first weekend in April, but maybe someone can ask Paul for clarification?

I wish this discussion had taken place yesterday, so I could ask at my lesson.
I know on f.net referee quality was an issue at previous events, though not this year's, but there were some concerns mentioned about available referees at future events. I know Texas has enough referees to meet the demand, but the number of strips is starting to approach a NAC (24-30, I think) so conflicting tournaments would put a crimp on referees and strip equipment.

Excellent. I've already put it on this forum's calendar and will put it on the rogue site's calendar!
