I concur. It also found that my traditional Fencing Net url www.fencing101.com/vb/Took me to a messsage that read: The Fencing.Net Discussion Board is closed at the moment. Still in the middle of that server move. Apparently the fencing.net community makes so many posts that moving the database has been quite a problem. We're working on importing the final part of the forum database and hope to have that up very soon. ETA is to have something working by end of day on August 24. Have a nice day.

I'll trust that this is a duplicate of an older message and not a suggestion we have to wait until the summer of 2007!

Indeed. The shop is working, as my order has apparently already shipped.

You really realize how much something is part of your everyday world once it is gone.
Thank goodness it's back.

FNet is back up.
Craig posted this yesterday...
Private Messages:Private messages were reimported this morning at 9am eastern.
Unfortunately by doing so, I wiped out all PMs from yesterday. I know that I had 3 or 4 unread ones in my inbox, so if you sent me a PM, please resend it.
There is a backup from last night so I'll see if I can do a partial restore from it.
Avatars: I performed a reimport of the Avatars and Custom Avatars tables to see if that helps. I'll also have to look at the files to see if some of those are missing.
Other Stuff: Fencing.Net itself was not hacked, but we were on a shared hosting server and that server got hacked, which brought it down and caused this "situation". Fencing.Net is on a VPS (Virtual Private Server) right now and I'm monitoring the resource usage to determine when to move Fencing.Net to it's own dedicated server.
The site now has a lot of bandwidth available and plenty of disk space to use so I'm going to work on bumping up some of the features once we get the restore fully test driven.

Well, it's kind of "up" now, but I was just scrolling to page two of a thread and hit this:
vBulletin Message The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

Perhaps having me, oiuyt, epeemike, DJ Apostrophe and so many other intensive users away meant Craig felt it wasn't worth keeping open for a while.

(sigh!)
vBulletin Message Hey there!
There have been some errors in the code since we moved servers which is causing a lot of extra server resources to be used and slowing the servers down.
The board is closed while the board is being upgraded to take care of this problem.
We will be back soon...(most likely within the next hour)

And we're back and running nicely again. Dedicated servers are nice. Pricey, but nice. Fencing.Net now has more disk and bandwidth than I know what to do with. Time to start ripping any public domain fencing video files for some streaming archives... Craig

More than you think you know what to do with. We'll fill it somehow...

Nuts. I couldn't pull up the site.
I'm just going to hope it is down tonight only because the server went to bed early with dreams of St. Nick.

No doubt too many idle fencers with no tournament this weekend logged on at once.

It made work that much more boring today. : (
Also seems like an extremely bad time to be requesting support.
