Did you notice that Grace recently got two more articles published in the Nueces County Record Star in just one week (May 11 and May 18, 2005)? She sure knows how to get some good press! ;D
BTW: I posted them in the "Fencing in the News" section in the Media area, if you want to take a look.

That she does! I really do stand impressed by everything she has done with that club, but the media... that is frequently where even the best clubs come up short.
Grace, you're my hero.

;D Thanks for the support, guys! In addition to the articles that Nueces County Record Star runs every so often, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times runs an announcement for my fencing salle free of charge every week. I really have been blessed to have so much support from the press. The local TV stations have also been very gracious, too. We have had coverage 4 times in the past two years. Not bad for a fledgling club. Because of this I see all kinds of things happening so quickly that it is almost frightening. A gym in Kingsville requested for me to come teach classes over there. Lei Tan, one of our old sabre coaches, invited us to start fencing at his new Kuman Learning Center in Corpus near the country club. A Corpus Christi ISD school has requested that we come give fencing demonstrations, especially since they have a high number of kids that are confined to wheelchairs (wheelchair fencing). Possibly they are interested in starting fencing... One of my Corpus Christi students that is homebound gave me paperwork where if accepted, he and others can get PE credit for high school if they are homebound or just want to finish high school earlier. AND in the midst of all of this, I am still keeping my head above water since my student's reading TAKS scores were so much better than I ever dreamed they would be. Oh---- and I will be studying for yet one more test this summer that I will take in either July or October where I will become a certified PE teacher in Texas, which could lead to all kinds of possiblities! There really is a God! I just hope he remembers not to give me more than I can handle!!!
