Kyle Maysel passed away last Sunday. Although Kyle had no children of his own, SWIFA was his "Brainchild". He loved fencing greatly and really enjoyed seeing the college level kids fence. Knowing he is gone, I am at a loss. Kyle was the first person back in the 70's to take my fencing seriously enough to build me a Frankenstein foil out of left over pieces. None of the fencing jackets at SWTSU would fit me, so he altered one to fit perfectly. He later coached my daughter and me when I returned back to fencing and helped me grow fencing here in Corpus. He was always eager to bring us equipment and referee at the drop of a hat. I knew he always had my back, and that I am forever grateful. I was very fortunate to call him "coach" and "friend"... and years ago, maybe even more. Life just won't be the same without him. Here's some pictures (old and new) I share with you. *Drat* I sure wish I had not given him the old college pic I had of him now... See you on the other side, Kyle.
