[glow=red,2,300]Hi all, I just wanted to say hi and maybe start up some more discussion of high school fencing. It seems that fencing is on the rise at the school level. I'm working to start a club up at another spring-branch school, as well as buliding up the Westchester program. But only time will tell how this program will turn out. I'm also looking outside Spring-branch and hoping to get something going in Katy the schools soon. It seems that their is a want among students to try it out. So I'm hoping more people will support the efforts of these kids. I'm really happy to see that the students at Clear Lake have banded together despite the apparent lack of support from the school principal. Keep it up guys! As far as W.A.I.S fencing is concerned, it looks like we will be fencing five days a week next year, and hopfully adding more club equipment and building up a stronger foil program. Also I want to thank all the fencers in the Gulf Coast div. for the support that you have given me. This year W.A.I.S. students went to 27 tournmants and won lots of medals! It was a real success! see you all next tournament season! ---Stephen Moss Westchester Fencing Club [/glow]
I know that there was parent of a Katy Blades fencer who was trying to get a club started at Katy HS. Does anyone know more on this or if anyone else is trying to get a foot in the door at their local high schools?
