I don't know on that score, but I thought it might be fun if people wanted to start a thread on people who are famous for things other than fencing but who fenced (like in college or high school).
I'll start:
Neil Diamond, the singer, was a sabre fencer and IIRC attended college on a fencing scholarship.
Robert Heinlein, the science fiction writer, fenced in college.
Sylvester Stallone took up fencing at Deveraux High School in Philadelphia.
Jerry O'Connell, played the heavy child in Stand By Me, took up sabre in college and credits that with slimming him by the time he had the lead in the TV series Sliders. BTW, his brother, Charlie O'Connell, who was also on Sliders fenced foil.
Bruce Dickerson, from the rock band Iron Maiden, not only fences, but owns the UK fencing supply company, The Duellist.
George Peppard was a fencing instructor before becoming famous in Breakfast at Tiffany’s with Audrey Hepburn.
George Patton, US General in WWII, was a pentathlete and competed in the Olympics.
Anyone want to go next?

Another science fiction author who fenced was, I believe, Ben Bova.
Heinlein, IIRC, fenced at Annapolis and won some championships.
Also, the poet Ezra Pound not only fenced, but taught fencing to William Butler Yeats.
