I took this off the Classical Fencing Mailing List:
The AHF is pleased to host our annual classical foil tournament in Florida, to be held on Saturday, April 8th, 2006 in the town of Jupiter.
This is the perfect opportunity for the classical fencing community to celebrate the art, science, and spirit of classical fencing, meet other fencers from around the country, and test their skills in what is sure to be an exciting event.
This event is open to all fencers, regardless of background or skill level, who would like to experience the classical fencing tradition first-hand. Please be sure to fully read the rules, which include all equipment standards and which will be strictly enforced.
Remember, April is still tourist season in FL so book your tickets early to avoid high prices. Often you can get a cheaper flight by arriving a day or two early and/or staying a day or two later. Plus, that gives you the opportunity to take advantage of local beaches and
other attractions.
For more information please visit the AHF web site: www.ahfi.org.
UPDATES
LODGING: For those of you coming from out of town, a decent motel is available near the airport with *very* reasonable rates. Alternately, I can pair you up with a local fencer who has room in their house. Either way, contact me for details and for info on low-cost local
transportation.
PARTY: What's more fun than a fencing tournament? A post-tournament party, of course! All fencers and officials are invited to my house for a BBQ/party after the tournament. Bring your appetite because there will be plenty to eat and drink.
