As a result of various factors (I won't bother with them here, but the details can be made available to any who request them) I find that a certain amount of my personal living space is being filled with blue blazers and gray slacks. The amount of space being taken up by these items is increasing. Many of you, I am sure, have already recognized the tell-tale USFA-suggested uniform of your basic fencing director (oops, I mean, referee). I am in the process of working up a list of how many of what sizes I am receiving. Given that ever larger numbers of our colleagues are being called upon to referee, but may not have acquired the above-described uniform, I am willing to try to match clothing sizes to people sizes. Some of these were worn slightly. Some were never worn (some slacks still have unhemmed pant legs). As I can match these to individuals, they will be made available at no charge. I suspect my inclination will be to give first priority to those still in school and less likely to have their own income. (Of course, how many high-schoolers can wear a 58 Regular?) Feel free to contact me at my email: john@trojanowski.com

Yo Dawg, with enough bling, they'll be looking fine in the 58R's...... ;D
Seriously, that's very nice of you, John. Extra Karma headed your way.

I've done some preliminary inventory work:
Women's gray slacks Size 6 - 4
Men's gray slacks Size 28 - 2 Size 30 - 4 Size 32 - 1 Size 34 - 4 Size 36 - 3 Size 38 - 1 Size 40 - 1 Size 42 - 0 Size 44 - 3 Size 46 - 1
Men's blue blazers 36 - 1 38 - 1 42 - 3 44 - 2 46 - 1 48 - 1 52 - 1 54 - 1 58 - 1 (not counting a few already delivered to one group of young potential referees and one blazer I'm already holding for a colleague.)
There may be a few more to come in, but I hope to wrap up my end of the project (receiving) by Friday.
Such items as do not get farmed out over the next month or so for referee attire will be routed to a charity that provides business attire for those who are down on their luck but trying to re-enter the workforce.

One simply HAS to ask the question though...
Wherd did they all come from?

David:
I sent you a PM to answer your question.
As you can see the answer is as mundane as the circumstances were fortuitous. The only reason I didn't go into here is it is a long story and fairly boring. I was just in the right place at the right time.
I'm trying to be less long-winded.

Schlager: I have a couple of grey suits and some slacks that have been hanging in the back of the closet a while. Also a half dozen silk ties. I'm a bit longer than most, but a few bucks for tailoring is cheap. Can I donate them to the cause? I can bring them to the Fete.

Hmm...
To answer a couple of questions at once:
LongBlade - Sure, bring them by.
Parry Nine - I think I've got a pair of waist 34 slacks. Want to PM me with an address. I am not charging money, but after I see what it costs to ship, I'll happily accept reimbursement of expenses. (or you could come down to our division for a tournament sometime and get them direct... hint! hint!)
Remember, this is NOT going to become some ongoing business. I don't want money (I DO want my den back!)
Also I am modifying the earlier post with regard to blazer sizes and quantities.

I am now at the point where I believe no further blazers or slacks will be coming in. Again, many are never-worn, with the pant legs still unghemmed. A few were used once or twicwe as back ups (They were part of a uniform system.) I have also dispersed a few. All are in very good shape. My remaining count is this:
Blue blazers 36R - 2 38R - 2 40R - 1 42R - 3 44R - 2 46R - 1 48R - 2 52R - 1 54R - 1 58L - 2
Gray slacks: Women's size 6 - 4
Men's waist sizes 28 - 4 30 - 6 32 - 8 34 - 7 36 - 6 38 - 4 40 - 3 42 - 1 44 - 6
I think, particularly for our younger referees (high school, college, etc.) and those from more economically depressed environments, making the purchase of a new suit just to referee can put a real bind on the personal finances. At the same time, these were slated for destruction until I acquired them (read as: They were dumped on me to get rid of.) I think we should try to match these outfits with the appropriate users.
...but soon. I really do not have the room.
