Hmm... The pre-registration on this tournament is disappointingly small. Too bad, because it is a very solid set of epee fencers competing.
Why is Stephanie Wheeler now fencing "unattached"?

NCAA rules? I'll confess ignorance here since I didn't fence in college (or attend a school that even had NCAA fencing)... Still I have heard that the rules and regs for NCAA ANYSPORT are both arcane and very, very extensive. USFA rules are enough fun. I will sleep in blissful ignorance of any NCAA regs, thank you very much. I know a few fencers who, even though they practice and take lessons consistantly at one or two clubs, prefer "unattached" status. Their reasons as various are the fencers themselves. Sorry to hear of a low turnout this close to nationals. Perhaps some are taking some "down time" before the big one.

Well, for one fencer I know pretty well, the option was to sleep in on one morning this weekend and then choose which tournament offered more fencers. So he chose San Antonio and got to fence our friend the Dark Knight in the round of 8. Always good fun.
