I was on the Referee Rankings site operated by FRED and discovered my foil and sabre rankings (lowly 10s) had disappeared. My epee 7 was still there. I grant I don't have the opportunity to be observed all that often, but I noted the original rankings some achieved the same weekend I started are still in place. Heck, the site still shows Brad Goldie in the Gulf Coast Division. ;D Did I offend someone?

Hrmm... its a good question.
Technically, ratings are reduced by one after a certain period of not refereeing at that level - I believe its 2 seasons. But send an email to Greg Dillworth - he's the chair of the Grassroots Referee Development Committee. His email is available on the FOC website (www.fencingofficials.org)

I'll send him a line.
I am definitely feeling in limbo. While not observed I did referee foil at the Call to Arms up to final bout. It was August Skopik vs Michael Dudey. I think I should at least get to keep my 10 for that (although, in fairness, both fence with very clean actions).

John,
Don't cut yourself short. You also directed me in two other DEs, including myself and Boney where I did three riposte's to the back, and several counteripostes that lesser directors do not call. The best I can say is that I was comfortable with your directing, and just wish I remembered that the grounding had switched. You are not a 10 any longer, and was directing at least in a 6 range. I did indirect slow attacks, fast attacks and everything in-between and you did not miss them. Don't give up on your ratings too soon.
You also did not allow fleche remises off the strip, but allowed my parry-riposte when I was on and my opponent was off. You were consistent, and that is all a fencer can ask for. Email Greg, and ask for an Aggie's grace period.

I just went on the FOC site to email Greg, and many of the links are down. Does anyone have an email address?
