Actually this is a valid subject. First many fencers believe that the tip must be folded over. That was an old rule and has since been replaced that allows for solid tips.
There also can be maintenance which I have had to perform. How many have had a tip test in Sabre. At World Championships and some World Cups that actually happens. What do you do if the tip is too big. That has happened at some of the competitions I have been on. It is very scary, but you can very very very Sloooooooooowly squeeze the tip to make it smaller, but you have to be very careful. It is either that or replace a perfectly good new blade.
