Two hundred fifty dollars a night? No thucking fankyou. I called as well. Two things-the reservations people don't have the USFA down for July of 2009 yet and when you book your rooms, ask for the "Summer Fest" rates. It's around $200 a night (still pretty steep) which includes parking and most likely breakfast and resort fees (what does that include?). The SummerFest package hasn't been made up yet-most likely will be made up in late spring. All I can think is that the USFA must have cooked up some kind of a deal, but not a great deal. Anyone know if there are hotels close to this one?

It is a year and a half in the making. Give it some time. I'm sure they cooked up something. If not, the DFW metroplex has one or two other hotels.

It is a year and a half in the making. Give it some time. I'm sure they cooked up something. If not, the DFW metroplex has one or two other hotels. This is true. When we were in Miami this year, the San Jose people were there, the hotels were announced, etc. As soon as we got home I checked the hotel rates-and they were reasonable for that area of the country. But did I book? Noooo!!! Now the rates are higher and we've missed the rooms at the venue. Bleh. Sorry, but I must obsess. This Gaylord place looks like it will be very nice-venue, food, recreation all in one place. I do hope they can offer us a price that is less than $200 a night!

I really can't imagine the USFA going with that rate. MAYBE $149, but they've never been that high before, and I just don't see them doing it.
Summer in Dallas is probably not peak season, so they likely got a very nice deal for promising to fill the Resort I'm sure.
Also, the number of strips at Summer Nationals isn't Quite that high, it was 60 at Atlanta and about the same at Miami I think. Still a Giant NAC and good job to everyone!
