from the SWS Yahoo Group: Recently a notice was added to the SW section web page calling for names of those who may be interested in coordinating the RYC in our section. So far, I have received.. hmm let me count.. ZERO NAMES. Kelly Williams (national coordinator) has asked for someone to take this position and I am to collect names of potential candidates for that appointment. This position needs to be filled immediately because the schedule for our section will be pending until that time. Please - if you are interested, or you know someone who may be, PLEASE forward their name/email to me so we may discuss it. Thanks Terry Harkey Secretary Southwest Section of the USFA magnetfencing@sport.rr.comPhone: 318-458-3779

Ok, in my former life of working outside the home I did a lot of coordination in business development, setting up conferences, the list goes on and on. What is required of this position? If it is coordinating events, etc. and minimal, actual on the strip fencing knowledge is required (or there is someone reliable that I can ask, apply and move on then that would work too), then I would be happy to help because coordination in chaos is something I do very well. If it requires intensive fencing knowledge, well, I may be very disappointing lol.

At the North Texas Division EC meeting this weekend, we badgered someone into applying for the job.
Not me though!

If it is coordinating events, etc. and minimal, actual on the strip fencing knowledge is required (or there is someone reliable that I can ask, apply and move on then that would work too), then I would be happy to help because coordination in chaos is something I do very well. From the minutes of the July meeting of the USFA Board of Directors: The Coordinator should communicate with host clubs throughout the fencing season. It is suggested that Coordinators create a web site for their Regions with a calendar, regional point standings and other information that would likely be important to the youth fencers and their families. The Coordinator should provide every RYC host club a copy of RYC Guidelines. The Coordinator should be available to discuss, and help resolve, any problems or conflicts that arise related to a RYC that is held in their Region.
To the extent possible, the Coordinator should attend each RYC in their Region. If they cannot attend, arrangements should be made for another person to attend and provide a report or comments related to the organization and operation of the RYC.
