I got a catalogue from Venuto Sports Awards in the mail and it got me to thinking. At the Clear Lake Fencing Club we have been using Crown Trophies for quite awhile (national chain, local store, prices seem reasonable). OTOH, some of the Venuto awards looked pretty cool.
I was just curious who the different fencing clubs and divisions used for trophies and their feedback. (Just looking toward that inevitable next tournament.)

Here's my recommendation: Hill Country Trophy hillcountrytrophy@sanmarcos.netPhone: 512/ 392-3070 Fax: 512/ 392-3076 Bo and Cindi Kelly are familiar with making fencing trophies for several local groups in San Marcos (they'll also ship long distance) and they have the tops for the trophies and fencing medals in stock. They did the tropies for the last Coastal Bend Mixed Open for me which turned out great. They do good work, and they're just really good folks!

I've got a great place that I've used for a number of types of awards in the past. They're in Irving, but will ship to anywhere. Crystal Images www.crystalimagesINC.com 1-866-556-0741 They've done the crystal engraving for the awards for SabreCave for the past 4 years, plus the first place awards that I had made for the SSCC champions when I was SSCC Commissioner. They have the best prices on crystal and engraving that I've been able to find - they're actually the crystal engraver that a lot of dealers will go to when they want something done (and charge you a markup for!). Tell the owner, Stan, that I sent you, and he'll be even nicer. They can either do engraving on their own stock of glassware (or acrylic, or metal, or almost any other substance known to man) or with something provided by a client for very reasonable prices. Pictures, lettering, whatever!
