That sure was a quick vote.

In truth, just so folks don't get burned out on voting every month (I mean, it's not like fencers are an opinionated bunch), I've been alternating: one month I abuse the priviledge of being admin to pick the winner and the next we run a poll.
March is my turn, just because I reallly do have someone in mind. I'll start a poll in late March our April "Motm," as nemo put it.
(Aside: For some odd reason, everytime I see MotM I flash to that Richard Gere oddity, Mothman).

Now the question comes, whether it feels better to be picked out by the admin, or to win an election of your peers?

okay, my question, why Wysocki?
No disrespect intended, but he's not exactly the most active member of the site...

He's been fairly active through the discussions on the Houston NAC and bringing other large tournaments to Houston. Certainly post count/rate shouldn't count for everything.

My thoughts exactly. Since this month we have the NCAAs back in town, thanks in large part to his efforts and those of Cathy Dean, it seemed an appropriate month to put him on display.
For April, I anticipate going back to the voting format, possibly limiting the number of members in the running to two, just to see if that changes the complexion of the race any. We could look at it in terms of a bout. Perhaps two from the sabre community or two foilists or duelling epee fencers.
Could be fun.

Thanks for the honor John, it is appreciated. Hey here is a question for all. Would there be interest out there for Oleksii Ivanov to hold a clinic for coaches. Olesksii is the former national team coach for the Ukraine, now here in Houston and is expertise is saber and epee. He is an A rated FIE director having directed at the last Olympic games. His thought is to have a very very low cost clinic to share with other coaches saber drills and practice methods dealing with footwork, bladework, film study, conditioning and tactics. This is what Yuri is teaching in NYC and at his camp and coach K teaches at Penn State. The purpose is to equip coaches to raise the level of their saber fencers. The clinic would have a text plus live examples in work sessions. He feels this would help raise the level of saber in the section. If anyone is interested, please contact me at 713 870 3346. We're thinking about a one or two day camp on a weekend. Hopefully soon to get folks ready for Summer Nationals. I will say this, it has helped his local students.

Thanks for the suggestion Marty. I'm not a coach, but I'll pass it on.

So how do you find out who the MotM is? It used to be a topic, I think, but I can't find it now. I think the choice was great, tho. MW has done so much for us all lately. My thanks to ya Bigguy!

Marty is an excellent choice, Schlager! ;D So how do you find out who the MotM is? It used to be a topic, I think, but I can't find it now. Captain, just look at the flashing marquee at the top of the Home Page to find out.

"quality of posts over quantity of posts...." Marty has done so much for fencing-an excellent choice. Does he get a Hawaiian shirt and Buffet concert tickets to go with this honor?

Now, of course, if I can just get him to actually log in instead of signing on as a guest, he will even get the PMs I've sent... ;D
