Delia Turner (Peach) posted thew following yesterday on Fencing Net. :
Vet Worlds Teams So Far
WE wasn't decided until today, and MF is being fenced tomorrow. I didn't see WF 60+ posted. Here's the list I copied off the bulletin boards around 3:30 today.
WE 60+ Bedrosian, Annavedder, Graham, Rubin WE 50-59 Aher, Telles, Theriault, Bosco WF 50-59 Nazarova, Walters, Runyan, Offerle WF 60+ - I did not see this on the bulletin board. WS 60+ Green, Hurst, O'Leary, Reckling WS 50-59 Turner, Eyre, Pestotnik, Cummins ME 60+ Messing, Jefferies, Sexton, Spielberg ME 50-59 Bothelio, Kocab, Alexander, Mullarkey MF 60+ - championships being fenced 7/9 MF 50-59 - championships being fenced 7/9 MS 60+ Sexton, Pinkus, Apostol, Volkman MS 50-59 Korfanty, Jacobson, Yung, Richards
I was unable to attend the Veteran Committee meeting Friday evening because I was strip-coaching a fencer. I gather that there was emphasis on each member of a weapon squad (say, WS 50-59) having their international logos done exactly the same (one on each leg, done the same way, as for instance all embroidered on or all stenciled). No names on legs, just logos. The socks need to be all the same.

Actually, as pointless as it sounds, it IS an important thing. Its part of the way the 'identical uniform' clause is being interpreted at the world level these days - knickers, socks, lames, etc - everything must be identical. So, by making sure that the entire team is identical, the veteran's committee is definitely doing their job.

Indeed. If only the Cadet/Junior Team had known this, it would have saved a lot of trouble. That said, there are other Veterans issues, and I hope those are addressed too.
