I am toying with some changes on the Rogue site.
Since the Division site, once Matt came on board, has really done a great job on posting the results of our tournaments, I have largely let that fall by the wayside. (The database function Matt added is REAL nice.)
Additionally, I have had a disappointingly small number of submissions for "Fencer of the Month." That was a surprise. Part of me was initially concerned that every coach and club owner in the division would inundate me with pieces on their fencers.
Of the few I received, all were pieces intended for the local newspapers and, thus, already had some circulation.
So I plan to give those pages the ax. Any thoughts to what might replace them, if anything?

Hey there, don't get so discouraged, it seems just a coon's age ago that you started the fencer of the month idea. I think it was a healthy creative idea for all fencers to "see into" other fencer's realms! Don't give up John, you wouldn't give up so easily on the strip, would you? Margaret,
I'm not discouraged. I just keep using the rogue site to find something that hasn't been done, try it, see if it flies. If it works, we keep it. If nothing comes of it, move on. I just have times when I draw a mental blank on the question, what can we do/try next?
This site doesn't cost me a cent (a little sleep, perhaps, but no money).
Maybe it's just work and I've had a run of teaching one too many cpr classes (oddly, a big part of my job) and am in what I like to call a "brain fog." I just thought I'd hear from everyone else.
C'mon, what would you guys like that currently is NOT available on line?

I have yet to re-assign the "tournament results" or the "fencer of the month" pages, pending good ideas of what to do with them.
I have, however, for the time being, created a parallel page to the old "bylaws" page that displays the draft of the bylaws created for review of the USFA. Note: This is NOT our bylaws. The USFA required a draft, a beginning, that was more in line with USFA rules. It also incorporates material from other division's bylaws and some dictates/urgings from the two USFA reps who came to the meeting.
It is a beginning. SO this time, everybody read them... all the way through. Then we can begin moving as far forward as needed.
I will admit I am only 3/4 through my second read and so will refrain from offering viewpoints until I've gone over it another time.

HI John,
I finally figured out how to log into this thing! Now I don't feel so bad about you restricting the postings to members. Anyway....your web site is great!!!! I actually liked the fencer of the month bit. I would add some to it if I had time to write something up. As for me?? I would love to see something related to what I'm interested in, and that is the expansion of High School Fencing. Could you develope a High school fencer's profile, or maybe set up a page for information for Administrators about fencing so that I can reffer principals to it when asked about how the sport works for high school kids?
S.M.
