Congratulations to Enzo Castellani for winning bronze in Cadet Men's Foil at the World Cadet/Junior Championships. Gladius of Fencing Net, Flamberge here, has posted the following on FNet: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the FIS official website www.federscherma.it/news.asp?i=44794&s=7(passim) As seen from the Italian prospective... The semifinal bout was very tough for the Italian who had to contend not only with his opponent but also with the defective functioning of his wireless apparatus which was tested in foil today. In any case, after a very strong start 11-4 and then 14-7, the Italian had a black-out which allowed Castellani to close the distance to 14-12, including two red cards given to the Italian. However, fortunately he [Lari] was able to score the final touch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Also posted on F Net, by epeemike81: As for WE, Scanlan's out in the 32, Brandfield-Harvey and Hurley are waiting to fence in the 16. Edit: Hurley's out 10-15 to Kolobova in the 16. . .
