I briefly experimented with a system called Cyrano, but the system you have there seems more intuitive and natural as a shorthand.

Interesting. I can see how it works, but in long sequences it gets complicated to read. I favor the "ladder" system of notation, myself. Just using a simple shorthand for the moves, I notate what's going on with each fighter on opposite sides of the page, moving to the next line down for a new action. It looks like this Fighter A Fighter B A.5 P. 5a, bind out ret. beat-P. 3 adv. A.3 Thr. Ctr. slip-L, beat-P.3
