Bummer, indeed!
I had never paid these renaissance faires much attention and only went to my first one (Four Winds Faire) this spring. Tons of fun.
I then went to Scarborough Renaissance Faire and was planning to go down near Houston for the Texas Renaissance Festival this fall.
Perhaps they can make a go of Songwood by 2009...

Maybe so. This is actually the third 'new' faire I've known of to start and stop before opening in the Houston area. No, I'm wrong. One of the three actually opened. For a weekend, I think. Nobody went back, performers included. It takes more than a plot-o-land and a beer booth to make a Renaissance Festival!

I recall one that lasted a single season near Alvin. That was about 10 years ago. Can't recall if it was only one weekend or more.
