A little anecdote to share with all.
As we are all too aware, in late August Katrina laid waste to the northern Gulf Coast: Mobile, Gulfport, New Orleans, & etc.
Flash forward one month to late September and Rita has Houston, Galveston, et al in her crosshairs. We dodge that one, too, while Port Arthur took the hit.
The next weekend was the first weekend of the Texas Renaissance Festival. My wife and were there that first Sunday (The actual opening day was the same day as SabreCave, so we went the next day).
My wife and I were in a shop that carried, among many other things, several 8 or 10-inch tall faux alabaster/marble statues of the Greek gods. The shelves were clearly labelled with each god's name and over the label several copies of some classical statue depicting the diety in question...
except one.
On only the second day they were completely sold out of statues of Poseidon. There were dozens of statues of Zeus, Aphrodite, Hermes, et al., but according to the manager, they sold out of the god of the sea and storms by noon the first day!
