ure. I love that background, but that hair's been driving me nuts. Everything else is fine, of course. It's just, that, hair.

ure. I love that background, but that hair's been driving me nuts. Everything else is fine, of course. It's just, that, hair. You know, I read and re-read your message five times before I understood it. I had to log out and look at the default skin. I'm afraid I use the "Blue Tabard" skin. I'll try to re-do the default skin in the near future, but, you know, there are ten other skins to pick from. Just click on "profile" at the top of the page, then click on "modify profile" and pick various skins. Select one, save it and see what the forum looks like. If you don't like that one, repeat the procedure until you find one that is better... Doing a quick look around of the most frequent contributors, the default setting is the clear favorite: LongBlade, Geezer, vraptor, Parry Nine, Saberbobcat, DavidSierra, katy blades, flamberge, jett, Prudence, Evelyn S, kd5mdk, jazz007, staciared2, D and Dan Gorman are set on the default skin. I, MTD, fightgal, kathy, Sir Stefan Von Ziegler and Maupin are set on Blue Tabard. Aldo N and bobb121 are set on Antique Foils. fox is (go figure) set to Zorro. nemo and the6dark6knight6 are set on Earth. the carpinator is set at Dallas. JEC, kb and captain jon are set to stone. I will try to select a new default background, but if it really makes you crazy... you have the power...

So it seems some of us are down to Earth and others are "stoned."

We, "the stoned" background users, have seen a change in our background. It used to look like a plain stone. However after several months of using the "stoned" background, it has now morphed into 6 fencing strips. ... Perhaps, I might need to change and stop using the "stoned" background.

I just went and set the stone background as my own for a moment.
It is the original background I chose when I created it. It was always a repeating tile of a relief of fencers cut in stone.
How many "tiles" appear in your background will have more to do with the screen resolution you select for your computer.

The original stone background did not have tiles of carved fencers showing up around the message threads (at the sides). It was more a plain stone color background. Perhtaps, with a single tile at the center being covered by the message thread.

Well the only hair on the default background now is mostly covered by their fencing masks... It's pretty cool, but did it have to be sabre?

How can I go back to the the seascape? Even with the hair in the picture, at least it wasn't so busy. I don't care for ANY of the skins available now.

Wow, this is becoming a tough group to please.
Okay, the background to the default skin is pure black, that should be seriously non-busy (although I already had a "Basic Black" skin saved). It also has no "hair."
There is now a skin designated "raw stone" which is just a simple stone wall... no fencers...
I should add that occasionally a given skin disappears because the sites where I am allowed to store those backgrounds periodically delete them if they go several months with no one linking to them.

Just for what it is worth, I'm pleased with the zorro skin...
If I'm the only one using it, let me go on record as stating it is fine...

Wow, this is becoming a tough group to please. You change things... You create controversy, Schlager. You, surely, know that by now!

I have used a number of different skins. Usually I pick one and keep it a few months until I get bored and move on. I do miss the "sea battle" skin that used to be on here. The "Houston" skin has a really nifty shot of downtown at night from the vantage point, it looks like, of that park near downtown with the older, restored houses. The new "Galveston" skin caught me off-guard. It is... colorful... extremely. The very brief one with sabre fencers yesterday was not bad, and not so busy to my taste. (I mean, the text boxes always obscure most of the images, anyway). On the whole, I enjoy the variety. Then too, I enjoy variety in general...
