We definitely do NOT have the funniest fencing forum (or division!) Check this out from the Virginia Division forum... ========================================
While refereeing Epee Sunday, a fencer who I will not name, but otherwise know as James, comes en guard at the beginning of the bout with a fuzzy bunny velcroed to the top of his mask. Can anyone help me with the appropriate rule to apply in this situation? I think yellow card for non-conforming equipment is appropriate, but James argued that there was no rule specifically prohibiting fuzzy bunnies. I promptly awarded the yellow card, but then rescinded said card when suddenly like magic (or by the tip of Ben's epee) the bunny was no longer there. By the way, a fuzzy bunny velcroed to the top of a mask takes more than 750g to remove which brings up another question, what is the rule to apply when a fencer blatently and without remorse abuses an innocent fuzzy bunny on the strip. The stunt did pay dividends as James went on to beat Ben 15-14. Apparently the fuzzy bunny method of distracting your opponent's concentration works.

We outdid the bunny John
At UST we prepared a farewell party for Robert Wooley and we fenced with party hats on our masks and foils (which looked more like jousting sticks). Too bad I didn't take pictures.
