I found an online company marketing a DVD study guide for fencing referees. Remembering the grand hoo-ha when the FIE "Sabre Arbitrage" video was posted on the YouTube sites, I was curious if any of our referees on this forum had seen the video and could offer comments.
Good? Okay? Bad? Don't waste your money? Anyone?

Umm... no. Do NOT waste your time/money/energy on this DVD. I purchased one specifically for the purpose of evaluating it. I took it with me to the last NAC in Colorado Springs and showed it to the assembled community, which confirmed my assessment that so many of the actions are just plain WRONG.
The most egregious example is actually in Epee, believe it or not. An action that arrives with a fleche, before the fencer breaks the plane of the side of the strip is said to be "no touch" because the fencer left the strip.
The word is basically, that this DVD is another production by the same set of brilliant minds that brought us the last DVD.

The YouTube posts of "FIE Sabre Arbitrage" were pulled for copyright infringement, IIRC.
