from the USFA website...FIE REFEREE EXAMINATIONAndrea Lagan November 17, 2009The United States Fencing Association anticipates hosting the International Referee Exam in Houston, Texas the weekend of January 29 – 31 2010. The dates must be approved by the Executive Committee of the FIE, which will meet November 20, 2009. If you have an interest in testing please contact Sam Cheris, Chair of the Fencing Officials Commission, to submit an application. sam.cheris2@relera.com. Examination information and application documents can be found on the Fencing Officials Commision website: www.fencingofficials.org. Applicants will be judged for eligibility by the International Development Committee of the FOC; not all who apply will qualify. You should have at least a ‘3’ rating in the weapon in which you test and have actively refereed in the NACs over the past two years. You must also be a U.S. citizen, if you are not a US citizen, but are a citizen of a country in the Pan American Zone, you must contact your national federation to apply. More information will be available after the FIE Executive Committee Meeting on November 20 and will be posted on the USFA Fencing Officials Commission and the US Fencing Association website.

I believe Aaron Clements in Lubbock will be testing for the Epee exam. I gave it some thought, but I'm already contracted to work in Seattle that weekend
