A few weeks ago, we heard (second handed) at the BOD of USFA that a new USFA website would be running by 10/15. Well it is not yet, but the FNet geeks found the USFA website in construction. The beta version of the New and Presumably improved website is not Corinne's international USFA programs, which for the past 6 months is more helpful even for domestic events, but: test.usfencing.orgIn my view, it is NOT improved, but same information again. Now, the two main issues are: a) reliability of the website b) easy uploading of new info by USFA We need to follow the implementation of the new website as only time will tell. see discussion at: www.fencing.net/forums/thread26370.html

Some of the things I want out of a "new & improved" USFA website have little to do with software and more to do with dedicated manpower deployment, such as having results posted in a timely manner.
For that, I guess I'll have to wait for the next NAC or WC to see if there has been improvement.
Some of the things I want, however, are about programming. One example would be a secure, functional system to allow folks to pay for their membership online. Also, for tournaments, real-time verification of membership, affiliation and classification would be very useful.
