From an abstract of the Bastrop Advertiser for September 11, 1875:
"A duel with swords was fought at Brashear City (Louisiana) between Mr. Geo. F. BONDIES of Galveston and Capt. L. E. EDWARDS of Austin. EDWARDS was slightly wounded in the neck."

There's a rivalry? Absurd. I wasn't informed. I'm sure I would have been notified if there was some rivalry to be involved in... This is eimply outrageous. In fact, heretoforth and therebyto, I Ryan Necessary, fencer of little acclaim, do hereby announce for all that I now consider myself to be at odds, and indeed, in a state of 'rivalry' with any who propose this rivalry exists. Yours in perpetual enmity (but not really ), Ryan
