United States Collegiate Fencing Squad Championships - Relay competition
When you think about TEAM fencing (outside of the NCAA format), the image that pops into your head is the relay format to 45 points just like in the Olympics. NCAA fencing is different. The NCAA Fencing Champion is the College team with the largest sum of Individual Victories from each of their fencers who qualified to the NCAA championship pool of 24 for each weapon. Tomorrow at NYU, the inaugural United States Collegiate Squad Fencing Championships will be hosted using the traditional relay team approach with direct elimination tables, and many NCAA teams are participating.
