I just did a quick, although not thorough look at fnet- did the USA Fencing people miss another golden opportunity or is fate smiling on them?
This weekend at the NAC, in the convention center, is the Austin Comic Con. Hopefully some artists and fans will wander in and take a look at the competition and be inspired.

I don't know if USFA missed it's mark last weekend in Austion, I think we had enough comic con people walking in on our event.
However, we didn't have enough interest from the collegiate programs in Texas were there should be an opportunity for NCAA growth so Rice, SMU, UT,Texas Tech, Baylor, A&M and a few others,,,,, some good fencers are coming out of Texas and it seems they have to go elsewhere, because their isn't an opportunity at home---Temple/Duke/OSU/ND have all benefitted.
and keep up the good work FIT!!

indypacers, there might be interest among the fencers at some of those schools in an NCAA fencing program, but I can promise the schools, themselves, have NO interest in developing the same.
Texas.
Whaddaya gonna do?

I'm definitely nowhere near NCAA quality and don't know what it would take to be NCAA quality, but I definitely think that nemo tells more of the story. Texas schools don't care about fencing even in an amateur/non-NCAA capacity...it would be tough to get them to support any NCAA fencing programs...
