From e-mail:Some of you may have already heard of this and some may be out of town, but: My friends and colleagues at the San Antonio Fencing Center will be hosting The Final Road to London as both a fencing competition and send-off (fund-raising) rally for yours truly on August 11. I will leave for London on Aug 23 and compete on Sept. 5. I may very well be the oldest person on the entire US Team and probably the oldest in the competition as well. Am planning on utilizing TREACHERY as much as possible, even though I am surprised at what speed has come back. The "Rally" will consist of a wine tasting and silent auction. The silent auction will begin in the morning and the tasting/munchies will commence around 6:00 PM (or finish of the final fencing event). Info on the Tournament can be found on ASKFRED.net. If you get a chance, come check out or wonderful fencing facility at 435 Isom Rd. Suite 208. We are between 281 and San Pedro, just north of loop 410. It is one of the largest dedicated fencing facilities in Texas and built around the Salle Poujardieu fencing club where I now coach. For questions on the Rally and/or Fundraising event, contact Curtis Hardy: Curtishardy@ibrsat.com. If you a Facebook person, please find my "Gary-van-der-Wege, Road to London" page and "LIKE" it to be kept up-dated on THE QUEST. Best wishes to all. Gary van der Wge
