Just wanting to make sure I have these dates correct:
SWIFA 1 OCTOBER 16-17
SWIFA 2 NOVEMBER 20-21
SWIFA 3 MARCH 5-6
SWIFA 4 APRIL 2-3
Don't know the locations of any of these, yet, though...

October 16 - SWIFA I December 4 - SWIFA II @ UTSA March 5 - SWIFA III April 2, 3 - SWIFA IV/Championships SWIFA tournaments are team events (with new and exciting formats!) that usually only last one day of a weekend (usually Saturday). The exception is usually SWIFA IV, which has an individual tournament the following Sunday for those that want to stay and get their kicks. SWFIA II was moved to December 2nd and will be hosted by UTSA. So far this is the only committed host, to my knowledge anyway. That's groovy, because I've never been to San Antonio.

SWIFA I will be held Oct. 20th at TAMU as of Sept. 13th. I hope we're all good and confused now.

SWIFA I will be held Oct. 20th at TAMU as of Sept. 13th. I hope we're all good and confused now. Yes, I'm now hideously confused. If SWIFA #1 really is Wednesday, Oct. 20th, then TAMU can probably abandon all plans to recruit a decent number of referees. There will probably also be problems with some fencers getting out of classes. Was this supposed to say "SWIFA #1 is still being held Saturday, October 16th, specifically at TAMU, and SWIFA #2 is being held November 20th notwithstanding recent suggestions to the contrary"? Disclaimer: This message does not constitute official information about SWIFA. It is merely a conjecture.

Yes Matt, that's what it was supposed to say. I have no idea why I got the 16th and 20th confused with the wrong months. Ha ha.

Miracle of miracles, I think all data are starting to agree. I received a note from Alexandra Bullard saying And, the SWIFA Web site ( www.swifa-fencing.com/) agrees exactly too. For what it matters, these dates are what also appear on the Gulf Coast Web site's calendar as a courtesy to the area fencers.
