WORLD CUP UNDER 20 MEN AND WOMEN SABER: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19 THE GOLDEN MEETING IN FRASCATI
11/18/2005, Frascati - Tomorrow, Saturday, November 19, the "Golden Meeting" competition valid for the Under 20 World Cup men and women's saber will take place on the strips of the Palazzetto dello Sport (Bank of Italy) in Frascati.
The Italian national CT for saber, Christian Bauer, has called on the following athletes which don't have to go through the national selection:
Men's saber: Fabio Bianchi, Antonio Di Sapio, Luca Iacometti, Luigi Miracco, Massimiliano Murolo, Enrico Navarria, Alberto Pellegrini. Luigi Samele.
Women's Saber: Rossella Gregorio, Loreta Gulotta, Francesca Ponti, Ilaria Romano, Marina Savona, Livia Stagni, Camilla Van Staaden, Irene Vecchi.
The teams will be assisted by Maestri Giuseppe Costanzo, Diego Pardini, Alessandro Di Agostino, Cristian Rascioni; sport doctor Gianfranco Colombo, physiotherapist Pierpaolo Coscia.
Men's competition will start tomorrow at 9:30 am, women's at 10:30 am. The two semifinals are scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm.
Registered men sabreists come from Hungary, Ukraine, Germany, Egypt, Bulgaria, France, UK, Greece, Ireland, Poland, USA, and Switzerland.
Registered women sabreists come from Hungary, Bulgaria, France, Germany, UK, Poland, USA, Greece, and Spain.
Rai (the Italian TV) will show on RaiSportSat on November 25 a long taped summary of the competition in Frascati (saber) and Lignano Sabbiadoro (epee) between 4:35 pm and 5:45 pm.
