I received the following from Anne Trapani
Hi~
We received the following e-mail and attachment from a woman who places international exchange students in area homes. With 4 children in a small 3 bedroom home, we are by far not the ideal candidates for such a placement! I thought I would pass along the information should you know of someone who might be interested. He is 16 years old, and a fencer from Germany.
Sincerely,
Anne Trapani

I Want To Test And Improve My Character And My Self Confidence. And Of Course I Want To Get To Know New Friends, People And Cultures. .
Dear Host Family,
I think you are as excited as me to get to know more about each other. I live in a smaller town in Germany near the border of the Netherlands. If I want to, I can get into the next bigger dutch town by bike. There is one of a few mountains in this area and on this mountain I live with my mum Christina, my dad Wolfgang and my dog Mira.
Its very difficult to see my friends because of the way back home. I have to go by bike and the mountain is very difficult to ride, so I see my friends more often in school or at the weekend. When I don't see my friends at the weekend, but that's not very often, I make bike tours or go for a walk with my faimily. But if I don't want to, I call a friend and we do something else.
In America I want to get to know other people and cultures and get new friends. Its important for me to do something with my friends or my parents, not alone. I like to visit bigger cities like Colone here in Germany, but I also like to live at the countryside.
If I don't hang around with my friends, I play Cello or E-bass. I also like to play in groups like a band or an orchestra. With the orchestra I will travel to Worcester. I like to travel around. I wrote already, that I like to go to the netherlands. Of course this is most fun with my friends.
The biggest part of my family is scattered in the whole country. I like to visit them by train. For example my uncle in northern Germany or my grandparents. If I need to chill out, I sit down at my PC, chat with my friends, play Computergames or go into the Internet.
Once a week I do Karate and fencing to stay fit, meet people and have fun, but I would like to try teamsport, too. In my holidays I make a journey with my parents. Last year we were in South Africa, but I already was in France, Italy, England, Tczechoslovacia, Korsika and Mallorca. After the big journey I travel around in Germany to see my family and friends in other towns.
But I don't need to travel. Most of the time I meet my friends and relax. With my friends I go on parties and hang around. After school its more difficult to meet them so we have to use the time we have. In the evenings of the holidays I go on parties, meet my friends or watch TV.
In schooltime I watch TV or write songs for the band. I already wrote 2. Its much better to play his own songs because it's a completely different feeling to play them. At Monday in school time the band meets and we try the new songs or improve the old ones. We play from 7 until 9 o'clock. Its much fun. Often we meet at Wednesday too. I got a room in my music school. The leader of the orchestra gave me one. There we can play from 1 until 4 o'clock. After bandpractise at 5 o'clock I play with the orchestra.
That's me and my live here in Germany. I hope we will fit together.
Sincerely yours,
Felix
